Satellites

You can increase the capacity or the reliability of JFFNMS by using
satellites. Satellites are other JFFNMS installations that can either
have a sibling or master/slave relationship.

By default, JFFNMS runs in Master mode with no satellite enabled. This
means that it will not query remote systems for interface status. At the
same time it will not allow itself to be queried for status

Relationships between Satellites
A JFFNMS system can be one of the following: 

Master 
Master Backup 
Satellite
