JFFNMS auto discovery runs nmap + snmpwalk, the fact that only tcp/udp interface type is discovered demonstrate that the snmp does not work (only nmap). The snmp daemon on the pseries host is perhaps filtering your JFFNMS box. If you have snmp utils on the pseries try to run a snmpwalk on the host mib tree (eg on linux box: snmpwalk -c public -v1 localhost host), then if it success perform the same test from the JFFNMS box.
