Sure email can be turned off by just disabling triggers for your users, or 
removing their email addressees from the profile.

But that won't stop JFFNMS from logging errors. The easiest way to "cleanup" 
all 
  jffnms knows about the status of interfaces is to delete all the records from 
the events and alarms tables
