Hello Everyone, I ran across a very useful document today, related to serial port programming on Linux: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Serial-Programming-HOWTO/index.html
I then took a look at the author/maintainers web site: http://www.frerking.org/ Which briefly indicates some security issues with PHP. That got me thinking about how best to secure a jffnms server inside of a network, or even more serial, about some data one may publish on a website, derived from a JFFNMS NMS. What are the routine enhancements one makes to a JFFNMS Network Management Server located strictly behind a firewalled network? What are the routine enhancements one makes to a JFFNMS Network Management Server partially exposed to the Internet? What I have in mind is using JFFNMS to publish limited data about the status of the network, onto the Internet, via a web page (similar to Big Brother): http://demo.bb4.com/bb/ I would assume JFFNMS has a secure solution for publishing a network overview(status) web page? curious, James Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
