Hi,

I’m having trouble configuring JFFNMS to poll for a single OID, I wonder if anyone could help me out!

Here’s how I’ve configured polling so far:

Poller Grouping:

Description:                               Netscreen Firewall

Interface Type:                           Netscreen CPU Load

Interface Types:

Description:                                Netscreen CPU Load

AD Enabled:                              “checked”

Validate in AD:                           “checked”

Discovery Function(Internal):       host_information

Discovery Parameters:               .1.3.6.1.4.1.3224.16.1.1

Discovery Default Poller:              Netscreen Firewall

Internal Update Handler:              none

Manual Interface Add:                 “checked”

Break by Card:                          “not checked”

Have Tools:                               “not checked”

Default Graph:                           Linux/Unix System Info CPU Usage

Default SLA:                               No SLA

RRDTool Structure RRA:             RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:<resolution>

RRDTool Resolution:                   103680

RRDTool Step:                            300

Poller Items:

Description:                               Netscreen CPU

Name(Match RRD Struct DS):     Netscreen Firewall

Pller Command(file):                   snmp_counter

Parameters:                              .1.3.6.1.4.1.3224.16.1.1

Once all this has been configured I went to Hosts and tried to manually poll, JFFNMS didn’t discover the Netscreen CPU Load but since I’ve checked “manual interface add”, I added the interface manually and then tried to discover the interface which again failed saying status: (not found in host).

The same OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.3224.16.1.1 , I am able to graph/monitor the values with MRTG and works with both snmp v1 & v2c requests.

I’m sure I’ve miss-configured JFFNMS somewhere but after reading the online docs several times, I wonder where I went wrong.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated , thanks .
