I Think thay making a poller with the propper OID, and assigning the value
to the description field of the interface (Cisco System Info), should do the
work for the IOS Version.
The only thing I would like to know is if that may interfere with the
host_information script. JFFNMS is supposed to automaticaly do the job?
I would be grateful If someone could explain when that script runs (I mean,
with autodiscovery enabled for the host?, like an internal process?, etc)
I still don't get WHEN the interfaces internal autodiscovery script runs.

Bazy: If I get this answer, i'll try to adapt the config to your needs, and
i'll send it to the list.

Martin F.

Same thing here.

JFFNMS is a great tool!

I often change port descriptions on my switches, but in JFFNMS they
don't get changed.

A solution would be to edit the interfaces descriptions your self, or
manual discover them again.

A feature that reads IOS versions and port descriptions once a while
would be great! Let's say once a day... If there is a wish list I
would add this feature to it.
