Spoke too soon, it happened again, and I got a backtrace (I
haven't applied the patch you just sent me yet). It does not
look directly JFS related.
I was doing tests with various log sizes (strange results
still), with and without 'noatime' and with the 'cfq' or the
'anticipatory' elevators, having switched to 'anticipatory' a
bit earlier, and post-boot elevator switching seems a bit buggy.
But it is curious that it happened as I specified 'noatime' and
not without.
