Hello!
Is it possible to resize a jfs filesystem (for instance when LVM below
should be growed / shrinked)?
afaik it is only possible to increase a jfs in size with the "resize"
mount option, see:
http://jfs.sourceforge.net/project/pub/faq.txt
Btw, what do you think are the main advantages of jfs over other filesystems
in Linux and what are the 'main' features of it in general?
a general overview of jfs' features should be given here:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-jfs.html
and i find the next one (wow, another url!) often *really* helpful:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_file_systems
I personally choosed jfs, because it's the fastest filesystem when
loading my mutt mailboxes, which are really big. Neither xfs, reiserfs
or ext3 are that fast in reading my folders (with >=10.000 mails) with mutt.
did you use any tools to measure the performance of the different
filesystems? not that i doubt jfs' performance... ;-)
