Perhaps with the electronics in the RAID host adapter...

Using my dowsing rod :-), it seems most likely that there is
some (multiple, likely) hardware problem with some of the discs,
especially given that there are 11 of them. I would check
whether the arrays are running in damaged mode.

Otherwise, SLES is a well supported product, so it is likely
that the SUSE issue database would have some entry referring to
sw issues with JFS on 64 bit in 2.6.5 so perhaps a search may be
in order.
