Hi I have recently noticed that the DeveloperWorks site has got reorganized over the years and the JFS papers as a result have gotten a bit broken, as in there are now only the HTML versions, and the links to the illustrations seem wrong.
So I have done a bit of searching hoping to find surviving copies on the net, and I found much more readable copies of the PDF versions, with the images inline, inside the SUSE 'jfsutils' RPM, for example inside this RPM: ftp://FTP.SUSE.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/suse/src/jfsutils-1.1.7-5.src.rpm Perhaps those PDFs should extracted from that RPM and put somewhere on the JFS page on SourceForge, as they still seem largely current (and much more readable than the broken HTML). I have also started moving my notes on Linux filesystems and JFS in particular, and I have written so far a summary of the JFS layout paper, here: http://WWW.sabi.co.UK/Notes/linuxFS.html#jfsStruct It may not be a faithful summary as some bits of the JFS layout papers seemed somewhat ambiguous to me, and I have a slightly different way of looking at things (and it is not that proofread yet, especially the intralinks). ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
