Hmm, I guess I will try to rebuild jfs.

The removal of the old (piix something) driver was indeed related to
these ATA/SCSI shifts in the kernel. But the new replacement does not
seem to recognise any drives or even the controller - the unknown root
volume panic msg only includes an empty list of possible device names.
