Just making my first steps with JFS on Linux, I've noticed following:

I've tried that with JFS code shipped with kernel 2.4.21-5 from Debian
kernel-source package and with the latest JFS-Code from
http://www-124.ibm.com/jfs/ too -> same result. Also I've tried it on
linux native partition and on a logical volume (LVM), with the same
result. Explicit mounting with option "nointegrity" didn't also change
anything.

On the other hand, unmount -> mount is not really needed, it gets clean
too by doing just simply: 
mount -o remount, nointegrity /dev/hdb8 
also.

So that's looking like a bug I've seen years ago with JFS on AIX. There
also space from deleted files did only return to free by doing a
remount.
