My husband, the printer, was amazed that JAWS reads my Haven manual right, since it is in columns. I have ABBYY Fine Reader. I don't know if that is the difference. Of course, I haven't read any kind of complicated formula, probably wouldn't know if it was reading one right or not.
It reads everything other than when instructions are given to punch this or that, they're either graphic or opposite background and color, I don't know, but enough material is given before hand that I can pretty much figure out what it means. Otherwise, the phone is explanatory enough that I['ve had no problem. That does not compare to college math, it just is that the columns are read as they should be. I've seen, time and again, PDF documents that are 100% accessible when JAWS and Adobe Reader are being used to access them but that just give really crazy results when a browser plug-in is involved. Were I you I'd download said PDF files and open them with Adobe Reader then see what JAWS has to say. It may still not work as you'd expect, but I'm willing to bet the result will be different than it is when the file is opened within a web browser, any web browser.
