After the original series of questions regarding the Times website came up I thought surely they must implement something like the Washington Post website, which when accessed with the URL http://www.washingtonpost.com does not auto refresh but when accessed with the URL http://www.washingtonpost.com/?reload=true does.
Well, or not. Here is a copy of the response I received: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Brian Vogel, Thank you for contacting NYTimes.com. We apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing. In response to your inquiry, in order to stay current on all the news, The New York Times updates its website every fifteen minutes, which causes the pages to continuously refresh. However, you can also read the news on Today's Paper above the headlines on the front page or on the app, which does not refresh as often. You can get to Today's Paper by visiting http://app.nytimes.com/. If there is anything else we can do to help you, please e-mail us at [email protected] or call us at 1-800-591-9233 from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday-Friday and 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday & Sunday (ET). Your satisfaction is very important to us and we thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Kelsey Rich The New York Times Online Customer Care www.nytimes.com/help
