What about Python? is accessible too. i think in linux it came already
installed.

After playing with Microsoft Math I'm thinking it's probably not the
best for simple calculations. But for anyone needing to do lots of
simple to fairly complex math, including calculus, and who wants to
graph the results, Microsoft Math along with the add-on (also free)
that lets you transfer the formulae to a MS-Word document may be a
great tool.
