Thanks. I use pretty much the technique you mention, but via mouse. I just think it's ridiculous that they removed the ability to do a "Send to->Desktop (create shortcut)" from the program icon no matter where you find it. The extra bit about having to "Show in folder" and then performing that task really annoys me for some reason. It's not like it's rocket science to figure it out but it feels like a step backward from a convenience perspective. Brian
