The other day the question came up about the new controls on Amazon.com for adding a credit card, so just for fun I decided to investigate. I got it to work, at least with Firefox and JAWS 15 on Windows 7 Pro.

I went to the Add A Credit Card page, where it was easy enough to type in the card number and the name on the card. When I got to the Expiration Date, there were these weird buttons for the month and the year. When I tried to change the month from the current 03 to the month I needed, I was stuck. I finally figured out that, while in forms mode, after you tab from where you entered the card holders name, you could press the space bar on that funky Month button, which caused JAWS to announce "toggle button pressed." Then you could arrow down to the month you needed. After selecting the month, I pressed the space bar again. That locked the month in place, and I could tab to the year. Again, I pressed space so I could arrow down to the year I needed. Then I pressed space bar to lock the year in place. Voila. Done! It sounds really complicated when I write it all out; it was actually quite easy, if a bit nonstandard.

Hope this helps,
Brad
