Brad, Thank you very much for that expressive and informative description. I've been using Windows Mail (not WLM) on Windows 7 using a special tweak, so basically Outlook Express. However your assurance of being able to import the folders of messages and the contact list is encouraging, and I may just take the plunge, especially with the capability of different accounts.
Good stuff. It was my favorite Email program to teach because it was so easy and intuitive. Having said that, when I got a Windows 7 machine, I couldn't have Outlook Express, and I didn't like Windows Live Mail. So I downloaded Thunderbird on a whim. I really like it. It imported all my mailboxes from Outlook Express (though you have to know where to find them), and I could've imported my contacts if I'd used that feature of OE. The biggest thing about Thunderbird that I like is this: I have about three Email accounts that I check in Thunderbird. Without the need for message rules or filters, it defaulted to keeping each accounts Email folders separate, which I prefer. If I want to read my Comcast Email, it's in one set of folders. My formyfriends.org Email is in another, and my UCoupons Email is in another. It seems like I had to change a few settings for maximum accessibility, but I don't remember what I changed. Setting up Email with non-traditional servers (such as when you own your own Domain) took a little bit of doing, but now that I've done it, it's really seemless. To be fair, if I were still on XP, I probably would've stayed with OE, just because it was so no frills. But Thunderbird is my preference in Windows 7 for sure. I've probably been using it for about four months or more, and it works fine for me. Brad On 4/12/2014 9:08 PM, Dave "Farfar" Carlson wrote: > Um, I'm still using Outlook Express (Windows Mail).
