There is a setting in WLM for spellchecker. Go to the options page. Then
go to email. Press Control tab till you hear spelling. There you will find
the settings for spellchecker.

Mitch,
I haven't noticed a reply to this query. I'm guessing there's a setting in
WLM that allows you to import or use Word's spell-checker. This is the case
with Outlook. You might google something like the following: WLM,
spell-checker, word 2010.
A WLM user will probably post a more specific answer soon.

Subject: WLM Spell Check
Greetings: Thanks to David, I now have solved my recent CC & BCC issue.
Next and very much needed by me is the Spell Check option. I have made the
changes I wanted in the Spell Check Tab and invoked ‘apply’ but this feature
is still not working. Also in individual messages, the F7 keystroke
produces no results in my test messages containing intentionally misspelled
words.
Finally, I do have Word 7 with a working spell check feature which would
provide a workable yet time consuming work-around.
All ideas welcome. Thanks, Mitch
