Hi Tom, There are a couple of ways to do this depending on whether you want to delete one comment at a time or all comments at once.
In either case, you will want the review tab which you reach by pressing alt R. I recommend looking over and familiarizing yourself with the review tab since it has a lot of options with some pretty powerful functions. But getting back to comment handling. If you want to delete all comments in the document the key sequence is alt R, D, O. If you want to delete only "shown" comments, the sequence is alt R, D, A. To delete a single comment the key sequence is alt R, D, D while your cursor is positioned on the comment you wish to delete. These key sequences work in Word 2013, but I believe 2010 is the same or very close. I hope this is helpful.
