I just reverted to Jaws 15.0.7023. Now Control-E works in Word to center
text, and the tab key works properly. Changing the tab key like that would
be like saying the spacebar is now the bacspace key. You just don't mess
with normal keyboard function keys like that. Is this change in version 923
intentional? And how did they break control-E for centering? It just does
nothing now with that version of Jaws loaded.
Thank God for older versions.

Subject: Tab key and other crap
Just got back from a holiday, found there was a Jaws update and stupidly did
it. Using latest Jaws, Word 2013 as well.
Why on earth does the tab key not work now? I am on a work deadline, and
spent endless time only to discover that a normal tab is now done with
shift-tab. Who would have dreamed that one up? Very backward.
In Word, control-E to center text no longer works for me. Is this a Word
change or a Jaws screw-up? I also find I can no longer use the normal tab or
shift-tab in dialogue boxes. If I want to recheck a field, I have to cycle
around again with the very frustrrating shift-tab.
Sorry, I’m way behind on list messages as I’ve been away. Sorry if this has
been talked about already. Is there something I can do to fix this other
than going back to a previous Jaws version and registering my
dissatisfaction with FS?
Jean
