Mario:
Why do you not have JAWS use the on-board Sound card and use the
SoundBlaster for the rest of your audio needs?
Sincerely:
Dave Durber

in my experience so far, a tech came to check out my problem and he said it
has to do with the real tek interfering with the sound blaster xtreme card,
and there's nothing more he can do. I did notice when I switched JAWS from
the sound blaster to the real tek, JAWS spoke clearly. don't know why.
if anyone can suggest something that might really work, I'd like to hear it.
I want to have JAWS speak clearly when speaking thru the sound blaster. JAWS
really doesn't stutter but sort of does a crackling/breaking up while it
speaks.

Make sure it's not a systme whide issue and not just Jaws. I've had to deal
with this problem in the past and indeed, it was a larger problem having to
do with sound cards and so on. Have your friend try playing audiostreams or
local audio files on their pc to see if the stuttering also happens there.
If so, then... your friend is in for a long time visiting tech support
forums. On one of my old machines I had to do a registry fix and just
recently on my Windows 7 laptop, after trying nearly everything under the
sun, I was able to fix my stuttering issue by uninstalling and reinstalling
my RealTech driver. Who knows, your friend may in fact have an easier
solution to their problem, but at least in my experience, the stuttering has
turned out to be a major pain to resolve.

Hi, asking on behalf of a friend who uses his computer for basic Internet
use and is not on any mailing lists for the blind. For instance he will say
the letter S twice.
This is a strange problem indeed. Could anyone offer some suggestion as to
why JAWS is behaving like this?
JAWS keeps stuttering and sometimes sounds as though he is not sure what he
says.

This took probably about a hundred hours of work, but it is done. It will
improve, but at least you can get back in the driver's seat again.
I don't know how this was anything short of a miracle, but it is good.
Please read the guides as it contains new information on how to use this.
