Hey guys.
This will be absolutely my last post regarding this I swear, to, god on
high! A friend who is also on this list who'll be left unnamed has informed
me that my private msg to Daran went public on list. Though it doesn't
excuse things, let me explain what happened so no one else makes the same
booboo.
What I did was I opened his message in my inbox. I then hit alt+1 twice
quickly to reach the from field. I then hit ctrl+A to select all, and
finally, ctrl+C to copy. Once done, I composed a new msg with ctrl+N.
Then, in the to field, I pasted with ctrl+V. Normally, this would have
definitely worked. The problem is, the way this list is apparently
configured, which by the way, I'd never! configure a list this way for this
very reason, the from field doesn't show the individual's address. It shows
the list address. Therefore, when I copied the from header, what I actually
in effect did, was, I copied the list address instead of Daron's private
address. Needless to say, I'm quite humilliated! This never! ever! should
have been conducted on the list, and due to this configuration, I failed to
see what was going on. Though I do put some of the blame on the list
moderator/owners for this, I cannot, an will not! give them all of the heat
for this screw up. I should have not just assumed, and paid more attention.
Going forward, I will. I wasn't even aware! you could configure a listserv
that way in the first place. I therefore ask two things...
1. Firstly and foremost, that people beg my profuse! profuse! solumn pardon
of apology. You dohn't have to tell me this was out of line for the list.
I know it was. That's why I'm begging your forgiveness.
Secondly, I ask that if the messages on this list are archived, if possible,
would a moderator please remove my post from the archive.
Again folks, I am so, so so so sorry about this. I cross my heart I'll be
more careful in the foreseeable future.
