Subject: Changing to high contrast in Windows 8.1
Hi everyone.
Normally, I'm quite decent at technology and figuring things out on my
own, but I must say... this one's really got me a bit stumped. I am a low
vision user. I don't have enough sight to use Magic nor ZoomText or the
like, but I can see color, and I definitely can see light, and can usually
tell when things pop up on my screen. Sometimes in the correct
conditions, I even can see progress bars moving across the screen.
Anyway, on my Windows XP machine, I had no problem changing the theme to
high contrast black. I'm having a lot of trouble finding this setting in
Windows 8.1. I see the screen which lets me change the theme, but the
screen is very very confusing. The one time I tried doing it, I think I
messed my theme up more than I helped it. Thank goodness I did that on a
test user account I'd created, so that I wouldn't mess up my primary
account. But yeah, I definitely need some help with this.
Basically, I need to know how to set it to the equivalent of the high
contrast black, then how to undo that and go back to the default windows 8
theme if I ever choose to do so.
Any help is appreciated.
Chris.
