When JAWS begins talking less and less, and a simple exit and restart does not help, then a hard re-boot is often the solution. I must say that JAWS was much more stable back in the days of versions 7 and 8, but since especially JAWS version 12, hard reboots are often needed. I also suspect that Office 2010 and now 2013 have added to JAWS performance problems. It has just become a fact of life for us screen reader users.
