Nicely put. Yes, you've answered your own question. When removing an older version, you need to retain shared components if you intend to keep an existing later version on your system.
However, if you're having problems with the later version, you may end up removing all existing versions and reinstalling the one, or ones, you wish to keep using. But it doesn't sound as though that's the problem. If it were, you'd remove all shared components as part of your effort to get rid of all traces of JAWS before starting over. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Maria Campbell via Jfw Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2014 11:04 AM To: The Jaws for Windows support list. Subject: Shared components I know this question has been asked many times, so here it is one more time! When uninstalling an older version of JAWS, is it or is it not best to leave the shared components, rather than doing a full uninstall? I know that some times a full uninstall creates problems in newer versions. So am I answering my own question? -- Sunny Day Maria Campbell [email protected] Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
