Since last week, I have also been experiencing problems with the Amazon.com
site using IE 8. I can bring up the home page just fine, and when I type a
search phrase into the search edit field to search for a product, the
results page also comes up without any problem. But when I click on one of
the search results to learn more about a product I'm interested in, JAWS
sometimes goes silent and the page will not load. If I then launch NVDA,
JAWS resumes speaking again, but I then have to close the "stuck" Amazon
window using the Windows Task Manager, and then unload NVDA to restore
things to normal. This problem doesn't seem to occur if I access Amazon.com
using Firefox 29. I am using JAWS 9 with IE 8 and XP, so the problem with
Amazon is not limited to the most recent versions of JAWS and IE, nor does
it appear to be connected with the version of Windows that is being used.

Subject: Amazon weirdness
Hi,
I went to Amazon.com today, and can not get a web page to work at all.
There is no problem with the home page coming up, but when I put in a
search the results page will not work with Jaws.
I am using the most current version of Jaws 15, IE 11, and Windows 7.
In the search box I go to the “pets” selection, and then put in
“greenies.”
I tried multiple times, always with the same result.
I don’t know if Amazon has changed something, or if the issue is my own
computer.
I use Amazon quite a bit, and I have never encountered this before.
Any thoughts?
Crystal
