When you say you have Jaws set to echo characters it sounds like you're
talking about keyboard echo. But when the program causes all that other
stuff to be spoken it sounds like it's screen echo. Try Insert+S a couple
times till Jaws says something like Echo None. This should fix that problem,
though you may not have the feedback you want from menus. If that happens
use SayLine (Insert+Up Arrow).
