Hello Gerardo,,
See Voice Profiles in Jaws training.
If you are not in the JAWS window already press ALT+TAB to move there. MAGic
users can press CAPS LOCK+U to switch to the MAGic user interface.
I'm going to press ALT+O to activate the Options menu, followed by pressing
DOWN ARROW to move to Voices submenu. Then press RIGHT ARROW to open this
submenu. MAGic users press ALT+S then G.
Press ENTER to open the Voice Adjustment dialog box for JAWS or MAGic. The
focus is in the Profile name combo box. The Eloquence selection should be
highlighted in this combo box, unless you have switched to a different voice
profile.
Press TAB to move past the Delete button, and find the Synthesizer Language
combo box. The Language combo box lets you choose a language for the
currently selected synthesizer. The availability of languages varies
according to the choice of the synthesizer.
Press L until you move to Latin American Spanish in the list. Notice that
the synthesizer immediately switches to this language, so you hear what it
sounds like.
Next, you need to save these settings as a new profile. Press ALT+S to
activate the Save As button in the Voice Adjustment dialog box. The Save
Voice Profile dialog box opens with focus in the edit field. Now you still
hear it speaking Latin American Spanish, so you have to be careful here.
Type in Spanish Eloquence and press ENTER to close this. A dialog box
appears that asks if you want to make Spanish Eloquence the default profile.
In this case, I'm going to choose the "No" button. I'll press TAB to move to
the No button and press SPACEBAR. Focus returns to the Voice Adjustment
combo box. Focus is in the Profile Name edit box.
Next, I'll press ENTER to close the Voice Adjustment dialog box. Focus
returns to the JAWS window.
Press INSERT+CTRL+S to open the Select a Voice Profile dialog box. It now
contains two combo boxes and an OK and Cancel button. The two combo boxes
are:
Default
Current Application Name
The Default combo box can be thought of as the "global" setting. Whatever is
chosen in this combo box becomes the voice profile for *all* programs, with
the exception of the following combo box.
The second combo box shows the name of the current application that is in
the foreground when the Select a Voice Profile dialog box opens. If you open
this from Notepad, the second combo box says "Notepad." If you open this
from Internet Explorer, the second combo box says "Internet Explorer." This
second combo box gives you an opportunity to switch to a specific voice
profile whenever that application opens or focus switches to it. The default
setting for the second combo box should be Use Default unless you have
changed it to another voice profile.
Cheers Kevin.

Subject: Jaws16 Can't figure it out: how to create a separate voice
profilewith Eloquence?
HI guys
OK the deal is this: Upgraded last night to Jaws16; like the changes of
the language via Windows+Control+l, but now can't figure out how to
create a separate profile so when I record podcasts, Eloquence slows
down be in English or Spanish! Any tips?
