I'm posting this message in case it helps anyone else planning to download the
new version of OmniPage. Yes, it can be done with JAWS.

Based on assurances that OmniPage Ultima works with JAWS the way OmniPage 18
did, I just went through the protracted installation process. At one point, the
installer notified me that some applications were using OmniPage components and
needed to be closed. The only other application I had running was JAWS. I
placed focus on the appropriate button (Okay, or whatever it was), closed JAWS
with JAWS key+Win key+F4, then pressed the spacebar. I waited a few moments,
then reloaded JAWS. The installation went smoothly from then on.

Two more notes. First, the initial download from the Nuance/OmniPage link is
fast but misleading. Once the executable file is downloaded, you click on it
and the real download begins. Even with a fast connection, it took about an
hour, possibly because so many people are doing the same thing.

Second, the OmniPage installer has a strange way of saying it has found old
files: It states it has found an existing OmniPage installation without
clarifying that this is an old version and asks you to decide whether to
proceed. The answer is yes.

I haven't yet tested the new OmniPage with an online PDF file. This version
costs $99, which I think applies whether you're starting fresh or upgrading.
