Ted, I understand there are some pretty good bluetooth keyboards available for use with the iPhone. I use a focus 14 braille display when I have a lot of typing to do on my phone, but there are some great resources for blind Iphone users where you could get info about available keyboard options.
Even so, using a combination of braille, dictation and the on-screen keyboard, I can accomplish most everything I need and have never missed having a "real" keyboard.
