Mario, I haven't encountered this issue with "putting," but I wonder if it's because the word is pronounced differently in the context of golf. I haven't figured out how, but FS seems to have programmed certain words to be pronounced differently depending on context. The word "read" comes to mind, with its different pronunciations for present and past tense, though spelled the same. Context pronunciation isn't always perfect, but it does help. I know of no way for ordinary users to have JAWS make such distinctions. I'm guessing that even if we enter a different pronunciation in the JAWS dictionary, FS's original coding will prevail.
