Most of the time it works just fine. I know there are some programs that probably don't function, but they're usually really old. Even Microsoft Office 2003 works on Windows 7 64-bit. Usually if you're going to have a problem with old software, it's going to be an issue with Windows 7, regardless of 32 or 64 bit.

But how well does older software (32 bit) work with 64 bit versions of windows?
Thinking of things like Winamp, GoldWave, BurnAware, ExpressRip, etc.? Thanks.

JAWS 15 will work with 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7, no problem.
I would caution you against getting a 32-bit Windows, not because of
JAWS, but because you will be limited in the amount of memory (RAM) that
a 32-bit operating system can use. If you have the option, a 64-bit
Windows version will give you a lot longer life of your computer. In
fact, it's almost impossible to find a Windows 7 32-bit system for just
that reason.
