Dear JAWS Users,

I am having an issue with the Spanish (Spain) eloquence voice on my desktop
running Windows 8.1 and JAWS 16. When I switch to this voice, the user
settings associated with the voice load and work properly, but the voice
itself speaks in the language I was previously using. For instance, if I am
using the English U.S. voice and I set Spanish (Spain) as my primary voice,
the rate, pitch, punctuation, etc. change to match the user profile for
that voice, but JAWS continues speaking in the English U.S. voice. This
issue occurs regardless of how I go about switching voices, as if the voice
in question were somehow corrupt.

When I reported the problem to FreedomScientific, I was told that this is a
known issue with the software. However, if this were true, then I would
expect to have the same issue on my laptop, given that I'm running the same
operating system and the same version of JAWS, but I don't. That said, have
any of you experienced this problem, and if so, were you able to resolve it
successfully? If yes, I would greatly appreciate if you could tell me what
you did. Thank you in advance for your responses.

Best Regards,

Michal
