Hi Brent, I've worked in 3 separate call centres in the uk since I lost my sight all three ran fairly be spoke systems but jaws has worked with all of them, took some getting used to how the system worked and how best to use jaws with their system but it worked, guess the thing is you'd be surprised how many system s will work with jaws. I've found the best approach is to assume it will work, when I've gone for interviews I've always just said I've already got jaws so there's no need for you to get any new equipment for me, if you think I'd be suitable for the job I'd be happy to come in and check the softwares compatible with your system before you offered the job to me, but that providing its fairly standard software you use here I shouldn't have any problems'. I've always found employers are quite happy and open to this suggestion and been really helpful when I've turned up with the software to try it, yeah sure there was one time when I went to try my software and it wouldn't work but the company was really helpful called the it manager down to see if he could help, but in the end we couldn't so we all shook hands I apologised that I couldn't get it to work wished them all the best with their search to fill the job thanked them for their time and we all left on good terms with each other
All the best with the job search for you by the way hope it all goes well Paul -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brent Harding via Jfw Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2015 7:43 PM To: Michael Mote; The Jaws for Windows support list. Subject: Re: Inquiry about JAWS accesible software for employees of CallCenters I'm wondering too. I heard about something on Twitter that is some kind of cloud-based thing built to be accessible, but don't know if or where it might be used in my area. The other thing is, when getting an interview, how do you answer the inevitable question of, once you briefly describe what Jaws is if they ask, will it work with our system? I don't know of anyone in the state of Wisconsin that is doing this type of work, or of people I could lead my VR counselor to to make the technical stuff work right to make it happen. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Mote via Jfw" <[email protected]> To: "'Carlos Fischer'" <[email protected]>; "'The Jaws for Windows support list.'" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2015 7:35 AM Subject: RE: Inquiry about JAWS accesible software for employees of CallCenters > Carlos, I have seen JAWS work well in call centers.
