Hi All,
My name is Chris and I have been a JAWS user since somewhere around version
3.7 or 4.1, however, I am brand new to this list.
I just have a question. I am currently using Windows 7 with the latest update
to JAWS 16 in both 32 and 64bit versions.
Can someone please explain to me the difference between manual and the
semi-automatic versions of forms mode (for simplicity I will refer to them as M
and SA). The only two differences that I can see are that:
1) In SA form, as soon as you arrive at a page, it seems to automatically
focus on the first blank form field an put you in forms mode, whereas the M
version does not do so.
2) In SA, you are automatically placed into forms mode if you tab to a form
field and then have to tab to or enter to get out while in M mode you are just
told that it can be edited.
If these are the only two differences, I was curious whether folks out there
are using SA and whether you prefer it over M and why? In other words, what
has made it the more advantageous or user-friendly method for you. The reason I
am curious, is that in some ways, it actually seems to involve more steps,
especially when you do not necessarily want to be put into forms mode when you
first enter a page.
Happy end of the weekend!
Chris
