I did everything. It's when I run the flash installer that Jaws doesn't
see anything in the window. Fortunetly, it does appear to complete at
some point. My issue is that Jaws only sees the title bar and just a
bit of text when it first starts with OCR.

I'm having no trouble with Adobe Flash player installation. I have a feeling I went to the website
and checked "automatic" installation, but I can't remember for sure. What I do know is
that occasionally AFP notifies me that an update is ready to be installed. I tab to the
"Install" button. I'm then taken to the website where I must be sure to uncheck the
Google items they want me to install as well, and then click on download. From there, it's routine
and fast.
Below is a copy of information I sent a friend off-list, in case it helps. By
the way, she has sight, so the problems aren't just ours. As I look over what I
wrote, I'm reminded she's a Mac user and has Safari, but the concepts apply.
I found three potential solutions for your AFP installation problem, but I
think the first will turn out to be the right one.
1. What I thought was the update download turned out only to be the Adobe
installer, which in windows goes into the downloads folder.
I have a feeling this was your problem with Safari. This item below implies
that the installer goes to something in Mac that is also called downloads. Once
you locate the installer, click on that, and the real AFP will be installed.
Here goes:
Did the installer start installing? You don't know where the Flash Player
installer has been downloaded. By default, the files are downloaded and saved
to the Downloads folder unless the 'save to' location is manually changed.
a. After downloading Flash Player, close all open browsers.
b. Locate the install flash player file. Unless you have specified otherwise,
the file is saved in your Downloads folder.
c. Double-click the installer file to begin the Flash Player installation.
By the way, although I believe you already have the installer in your system,
here's where you can download the AFP installer specifically for Safari;

2. Is AFP enabled on Safari?

3. AFP installation and update F&Q:

Subject: Flash installer accessibility
It seems the Adobe Flash Player installer is not accessible. Even
when I use Jaws OCR, no text is found after the first stage. It's
frustrating that Adobe still doesn't make their installer accessible.
