I know what you're saying. There was a mail program that allowed you to
choose the format of the replied to header, and I can't remember if it
was Internet Mail, Netscape Mail or Outlook Express; it was something I
used to teach.
I don't know of a setting that you can change in Thunderbird to modify
that part of a reply.
