I also use this method. Let me add one more detail that also helps. As you say, typing the first few letters of a name typically brings up that person's address. However, sometimes the name doesn't bring up the address right away. For example, I happen to have several friends named Michael. So to get to the person I want can require typing nine characters, that is, up to the first letter of the last name. Also, Outlook seems to be a little inconsistent, so that someone whose name begins with an "M" ends up in my "D" list because, for example, their last name begins with "D,"
So, when I anticipate either of these scenarios, I type the first letter, then arrow down through the list that Outlook brings up. As soon as the address I want is verbalized, I press enter. If the name doesn't appear, I escape out of the list and type the alternative letter (D for M in the example I give), followed by the arrowing-down process. Explaining this takes longer than doing it. I'll add that the method doesn't work for me when JAWS is tired, a sign that I need to reboot. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Mote via Jfw Sent: Friday, April 17, 2015 1:25 PM To: 'Cristóbal'; 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' Subject: RE: Sending an email to multiple recipients in Outlook 2010 I can tell you the way I do this, and maybe it will help you. I open a new message, and type the names of the people I want to send the message to in the two field. After typing in the first few letters of the name, the email usually pops up for me. When it does, I press enter, and then type the next name. I repeat the process until I have al of the addresses up on the two field. Outlook automatically separates the email addresses by using a semicolon. I hope this helps you. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Cristóbal via Jfw Sent: Friday, April 17, 2015 12:20 PM To: 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' Subject: Sending an email to multiple recipients in Outlook 2010 Hello list, So I would like to send an email to multiple recipients, but am not having success with a certain method. I know I can from within a new email message go to the to button and look up people to add from my address book, but I find that to be too tedious and time consuming. I'm trying to add a bunch of people by first pressing the control button and then going down my address book with the down arrow and pressing the spacebar on those who I wish to email. I guess it would be the command for selecting noncontiguous items in a list. Anyway, After I select the people I wish to email, I press the control+N command but instead of an email message popping up with the previously selected contact emails in the to field, I get the prompt to create a new contact. I've tried different versions of the same. By selecting my contacts then tabbing around in the ribbons to select the new mail option and so on, but no dice. I got this step by step instruction online, but so far, I've had no luck. Am I somehow missing a step or can someone enlighten me as to how to best do this? This is not for distribution lists as I would like to email different groupings of people at different times. I'm using Outlook 2010 and the latest Jaws 16.
