Hello Chetna,
You can change Jaw's pronunciation with Dictionary manager, insert D, but it is a bit of a trade off, since Jaws will also read V as 5 when it is a capital V,; similar to read and read.
Cheers Kevin.

Mike, can I have it too? I'm thinking of trying the Outlook Express for
7+. unfortunately never looked into backing up emails, and since
directions are included...

btw, in order to install OE, I'd have to remove VIPRE not just disable
the protection, right? and what about Eset Smart Security? I would want
to install OE on my other computer that has Eset SS.
and when it comes to installing OE, I'd choose "run as administrator"
even though I am the admin, right?
could you remind me of how to pay the 10 dollars? if it's thru PayPal,
can my friend use his account to pay for me?

I am going to be discussing Jaws specifically in just a short
paragraph so everybody just hold your horses.
I am a new iPhone user myself. Just got one Thursday and have only had
it activated for the past 24 hours or so. Jaws is accessible with
www.icloud.com if you use Mozilla Firefox as the browser. Internet
Explorer is not an adequate browser according to Apple's standards of
access.
Although you will be able to navigate almost seamlessly around the
ICloud services as long as you're using Mazilla and read all the
information. You will not be able to do some tasks because they
require you to access the servers with
you will not be able to do a whole lot because this site was designed
specifically IOS devices. This is what they were designed for. If you
don't use an Apple product, don't get an account with ICloud. It will
turn out to be a huge waste of time. If you do have an IProduct, be
sure and get the ICloud account. You'll need it. One thing to keep in
mind here is that these websites are build almost solely on the touch
screen technology. Sometimes you'll have to activate the "touch
cursor" and use it as if you were actually on a touch screened
computer.
Other times you will have to use the invisible cursor and you will
also need to frequently use the Jaws cursors. A little rule of thumb
these days is, try that touch cursor out when you appear to be having
accessability issues with a site. Also, remember to have both Internet
Explorer and Mozilla installed. For example, Rhapsody used to be a
very very accessible site with easy web access. Now the site is an
absolutely abominable resource. I've pleaded with them in an attemzpt
to get them to put up their classic website. They say they want
feedback and suggestions but ... well, can't prove that by me yet.
Anyway, Feel free to ask me any JAWS and Apple problems and if I can
help I will.

We use track changes in our practice, and it is sometimes important to
distinguish colors in track changes. The standard defaults, in MS Word
2010, are RED and strikethrough for deleted text and Blue and double
underlining for added text. For psychological reasons, clients don?t like
to send documents with lots of red. So, I have changed my track change
colors, as per the ?review? ribbon. Unfortunately, I have learned that,
despite the colors set on my computer, the recipient?s computer will change
them, particularly if ?track changes? are shown ?by author.?

That caused me to explore. I sent a document from my Windows 7 (JAWS 15)
computer to my Windows 8.1 JAWS 16) computer.

Deletions on the Windows 7 (JAWS 15) computer indicated the proper colors
for deletes and additions.

On my Windows 8.1 (JAWS 16) computer, the colors were either ?Black on
White? or ?black on black.?

I got the same read-out from JAWS, whether I used JAWS Key plus 5 or JAWS
Key plus f to check the colors.

Is JAWS 16 simply defective when it comes to detecting track change colors?

Hello Ed,
I have never had any luck with colours and Jaws; particularly using control shift S for styles, selecting a colour, and checking the result with insert
F, only to hear a completely different colour.
Good Luck.
Cheers Kevin.

That is not actually true.

You do have to enable expressive and direct separately in the
synthesizer and braille manager but both will work in jfw16. You
can't use both at the same time though, you are stuck having a profile
use either direct or expressive voices.

Are you using the latest update to JAWS 16? Last week, FS released a
minor update, which, among other fixes, addressed accuracy in reporting
color.

What about bookshare.org? If you provide them with proof of your
disability you can have a $50.00 subscription per year and you can
download up to 100 books in a Braille ready formatt or through various
other outputs. Right now that's the only way I get e-books and they
have most major title. Personally I like to call bookshare.org a kind
of net flix for the blind because of their accessability to so many
choices instantly. And you don't have to pay for each download.

I haven't seen this problem yet, but it could be a big one since I
work with editors and proofers quite often. If you would report back
with your findings I would be grateful. I'm still using jaws 15 for
the most part, but was just about to make the switch to16. However if
colors and track changes is broken I will stay with version 15.

Thanks,
Kimber

Hello Roy,
Control shift E, when in MS Word toggles track changes on and off.
You can go to FS Training, type text analyser in the search edit box and
find some webinars dealing with it.
Cheers Kevin.

Hi!

Usually during my Windows 7 experience I press "Win +" to enable Magnifier,
then CTRL ATL I to enable invert color.
The Invert Color feature is active in Full Screen mode, exactly as I need
(it it isn't I simply press CTRL ALT F).

When I run Jaws to help me on reading, the Windows Aero features are
disabled, and so the Invert Color is only available on the most top of the
screen, into a sort of indipendent top bar which shows mouse position, In
this way it's quite impossible for me to navigate without full screen
Invert Color.

So my question is, can I set Jaws so that I don't lose Windows Aero
Magnifier features?

I know I can solve using MAGIc, but... it seems strange spend money to buy
something that I yet have.

Thank you very much in advance.

Daniele.

Kevin,

As I understand it, text analyzer is a JAWS tool to help pick up errors.
Track changes is an MS Word tool to enable users to note revisions and
determine who made which of those changes. Given that difference, is JAWS
help on text analyzer relevant to track changes?

Briefly, as you indicated track changes is turned on and off with the
toggle control-e. After that, for JAWS users the feature relies on Word
keyboard shortcuts, the JAWS quick settings dialog (insert-v) and switching
JAWS quick keys navigation on and off (insert-z).

I thank you Kevin and especially others , I do thank you a lot.
Friends,
I always use to think what was insert V and insert Z was for?,however I am
still not happy with what Jaws 16 says, because Jaws does not tell me
what
the meaning of "Track changes".
Sincerely,

Hi all, my name is Guy Schlosser, and this is my first time posting to
this list. I am considering a work-from-home customer service job with
HSN, and during my interview today, my interviewer wanted me to
screen-share with gotomeeting. It is basicly to complete
a computer assessment to see how my skills are. Knowing that goto
meeting is inaccessible at best, I explained that and she asked if there
was a solution that did work for that. Now I come to you fellow listers
for help and advice. Has anyone experienced this scenario before? If
so, what did you end up using for the screen share? I guess the
four-week training is done via webex. Am I going to have issues there?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is a job I'm really
hoping to get.

Thanks,

Guy

Only if the check box in your email client is checked, which says something
like, "leave copy of message on the server", will you have an additional
copy of your messages.

Good luck.
You can share your screen; however they reversed does not work. You could
try accessible event; however, I doubt that will work.

Hello! I think that the web-ex training
Should not be an issue. Perhaps, you could convince the folks at HSN to
allow you to do the assessment over the phone. Also a very good accessible
way to share web-sites is through a site called Talking Communities. I've
used it before, and I know that Freedom Scientific uses it for their
webinars. It is very good.

Using J16 latest update, neither NBA nor MLB scores are getting anything
in Research It. NHL scores are coming in.

True for everyone or just me?

MLB and NBA changed their sites, and FS has to catch up.

everyone. mlb usually brakes around this time every year when the season

Thanks for this; however, I am at work where facebook is forbidden to
visit. Darn highschoolers lol.
However, One of them says Scroll forward through News Feed stories
j.
I can't try this here for above stated reason, but couldn't one tap h
for headings to skim through the news feed stories?
Or, am I completely off base here...

I use fire fox when using the regular facebook site only when I tag in
a post. lol.
I am aware you can tab via the mobile site, but I just don't like how
its done, honestly.
Thanks for sharing this, I will try them out when I get home.
For the record, I hate firefox with facebook.

There's always ESPN radio and TV. If you can sit through all the
stuff you don't give two hoots in Perdition about, you'll eventually get
what you want, plus analysis and interviews.

What about bookshare.org? If you provide them with proof of your
disability
you can have a $50.00 subscription per year and you can download up to 100
books in a Braille ready formatt or through various other outputs. Right
now
that's the only way I get e-books and they have most major title.
Personally
I like to call bookshare.org a kind of net flix for the blind because of
their accessability to so many choices instantly. And you don't have to pay
for each download.

Yes, I did that with World Series, but I'd like to see FS update MLB
Scores.
I've gotten addicted to that puppy!

How do you tag on the mobile site? I can get through things on the

"j.

for headings to skim through the news feed stories?"

Two different things...I think. Unlike Facebook mobile, where you click
"see more stories" to go to a new page of newsfeed items, the regular
Facebook site is one continuous newsfeed that scrolls as you go down.
Think of it like a big roll of toilet paper that never ends. So I think
they're saying you can jump from screen to screen of feed items with the
keystroke j. Not 100% sure though. Frankly, the thing I find is that it
feels like my screen constantly jumps because new items are always being
added, which is something nobody addresses in these articles.

And for the record, I find IE 11 and Facebook worse than Firefox and
Facebook.

Tagging is limited on the mobile site. There is an option, when you are
posting a status, to "tag friends." But it's not quite the same thing.

When you tag someone on FB mobile, it says, "with person" at the end of
the item. For instance:
Preparing taxes. -With Donna Martin

But you can't do things like, "Hey
link Donna
did you see this?"
You'd have to settle for, "Hey, did you see this? with
link Donna Martin"

Also, I haven't found a way, in mobile, to tag someone in a comment to
someone's post.

Hope that clears it right up.
Brad

I believe tagging someone in a comment on someone's post can be done by
clicking mention friends at the bottom of the post before you comment

Hope that clears it right up.

I want to know where to go to post something on my timeline on face book.
I'm using jaws 16 and outlook 2010. Thanks!

I believe tagging someone in a comment on someone's post can be done by
clicking mention friends at the bottom of the post before you comment Johna

Tagging is limited on the mobile site. There is an option, when you are
posting a status, to "tag friends." But it's not quite the same thing.

When you tag someone on FB mobile, it says, "with person" at the end of the
item. For instance:
Preparing taxes. -With Donna Martin

But you can't do things like, "Hey
link Donna
did you see this?"
You'd have to settle for, "Hey, did you see this? with link Donna Martin"

Also, I haven't found a way, in mobile, to tag someone in a comment to
someone's post.

Hope that clears it right up.

Facebook is very jumpy. I use both the standard and the mobile one.
