When I got to the "open file location", and put the cursor on the "shortcut" item, the contex menu did not have a choice for sending to the desktop. There was the choice of toolbar and short cut as you mentioned. Well, I decided to select the "shortcut" item and copy to the desktop. Well, that worked and I now have the shortcut on my desktop from which I was able to go to properties and create the shortcut. Problem solved. If this is the case, can you then press alt+d to go to the address bar, and then press ctrl+c to copy the address. I tried going to the file location, but didn't find anything there. I had the people from Staples where I purchased the computer, to install everything and, was surprised too that jaws was not on the desktop.
