Yeah, that notice has been on the accessible Google page for a long
time; and, yeah, the results aren't as inclusive as standard
Google. But The interface is so much easier to navigate than
standard Google, and usually I can find what I want. if I don't find
it, standard Google is standarding by for my query, ready to produce
a messy page of extraneous results ... and probably the one I am
looking for. (smile)

Ann,
I've avoided the accessible Google site for a long time, but after
you posted the link last night, I tried it again. On the one hand,
when I compare this website's results pages with regular Google's, a
lot is missing, but on the other, it's undeniably easier and faster
to navigate. This latest post, about linking only to accessible
websites, made me curious, as well as concerned, but the homepage
now has this statement:
In July 2006, we launched a small search experiment called
Accessible Search, which searched the web for pages that
were more accessible to browsers at the time.
Since then, much has changed on the web, and this
experiment is no longer supported.
Much as I'd like to be spared annoying, hard-to-access websites, I
think we limit ourselves by looking only at accessible websites.
After all, as posts on this list over the years have shown, each of
us has different experiences with different websites.
Anyway, I'm glad to be reminded of accessible Google, which I think
I'll starting using for casual searches. Thanks for the posts.
