Unfortunately, it is often difficult to resolve these types of problems because 
they don't come up on all machines and thus may be difficult to reproduce.  
Another thing to always keep in mind is that something else could be causing 
these problems, such as application-specific settings, antivirus/antispyware 
software, other programs, plugins, add-ons, toolbars, and extensions that 
somehow interfere with JAWS and/or Thunderbird, or even malware.

interesting: i too have not had the restarting problem. i also use thunderbird 
and have had no trouble with it. i'm using 16 and windows7 64.
