I might buy this point if a sighted person had not told me that the cell
reference bar shows the numbers and not the letters. that is why I think
jaws is not reading correctly.

Mike,
I'm pretty sure that the R1C1 setting in Excel refers to how a cell is used
within formulas, etc. JAWS does not have a setting to change how a cell is
identified.

hi guys:
I am using excel 2010 and when I change the style from a1 to r1c1 in the
settings, sighted persons say it does change but jaws still reads it as if
it is a1, b1, c1, etc instead of r1c1, r1c2, r1c3 etc.
any ideas?
