I think the Audible update is now installed, but it took sighted assistance,
guesswork and a questionable inference that we succeeded. Even with a mouse,
the downloaded file wouldn't open. So I went to the automatic updates option in
the Audible Manager help menu and located the Audible update file. However, I
couldn't do anything with it with JAWS. My assistant had to get it going with
the mouse.

The installation seemed to go through, but there was never any confirmation.
Also, Audible seems wary of assigning version numbers, so I couldn't determine
if what I have matches the update version number.

Next, I found the version number of my current Audible manager with
insert-control-v, then plugged it into Google with a few other search terms.
This somehow produced a new Audible page where the links lead to the standard
download method. I was hoping to obtain the file number this way. I didn't.
However, Audible told me I already had a higher version on my system. Hence the
dubious inference that I succeeded in installing the upgrade.

I guess I'll know for sure on or after July 15, when old versions of Audible
cease to function correctly.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to start the download.
