I have also recently started using JAWS with Windows 8, and it is fundamentally the same as Windows 7. There are a few minor differences, but the overall experience is largely similar. One problem which I initially faced was that Word used to open a large set of documents in protected view which created a lot of problems, so that necessitated a change in the settings.
