Oh, I can see that once I knew the keystrokes, that would be way better. I have some written from 2010 and think they will probably work on 2013.

Some people prefer to use the virtual ribbon and keyboard around through the various sections of the ribbons viewing all of the available options. The virtual ribbon is quite useful when one is first acquainting themselves with the features on the ribbon, and Jaws is announcing the keystrokes for the various features as well. But once one is familiar with what is there, and has memorized the keystrokes for what they want done, it is simpler and quicker to use the keystroke rather than arrowing and tabbing all over the place, "Short term pain for long term gain". Press the letter M until it says Miscellaneous. Press Right Arrow to Open Miscellaneous. Arrow down to Virtual Ribbon Menu. It will probably tell you that this setting is unavailable except in the default configuration of JAWS. To load the default configuration: Press Shift plus Control plus the letter D as in dog. Once your default configuration is loaded, you can Press the Up and Down Arrow to see if your Virtual Ribbon Menu is checked or not. You want it to be unchecked if you want all of the keyboard shortcuts to work properly. If it is checked, press the Space Bar to uncheck it. Then Tab to OK and press Enter to save these settings.
