Once we have done this, and we have turned on these "formatting" characters, will they be printed with a document? Or, will such "symbols" be "invisible" to the printer? Would there be a way to toggle, e.g. "formatting symbols on" and "formatting symbols off", to make a document ready for printing sooner? If not, perhaps a "macro" could be used;but, I would first have to learn how to create/use macros!

Go to Options. Tab to Advanced, and start looking. It's a big list, but what you want is there. You want to be able to see the paragraph marks in Word. You also have options for spaces and tabs.
