Just a thought. If all you hear is Headder Status Headder then try pressing H and see if it reads anything. The only other thing might be to tab around to see what might come up. You can also try closing Outlook and restarting it.
I'm not technical enough to give a better answer but if you haven't tried these already it wouldn't hurt to try.
