I learned the hard way - new JAWS, dictionary gone. So, I just
reconstructed. That is way easier than JAWS locking up in an e-mail, or
as in this case, I could not reply without having to hit Shift Control R
instead of just Control R, as I usually do. I even had to do that with a
private one to get it to take a reply.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

Subject: RE: merge utility - copying "library files" ...

It has just occurred to me that I have NEVER copied my dictionairy files
from
1 version to another. I did not know that it should be done. No wonder
I kept wondering why I had to keep adding items, that I knew should be
there, into my dictionairy! I just assumed that it was a JAWS
peculiarity.

So, would someone put me out my misery and provide some easy-to-follow
instructions on how to copy my dictionairy files to new versions?

Thanks much.

Jim H

That would be okay but I have thousands of dictionary entries (enough so
that I run into the hard limits of 2000 entries for each of the default
and program dictionaries). And also enough that I have problems each year
as FS expands the default dictionary (and unfortunately most of those
additions are for languages other than English and so I end up deleting
them).
